Lin & Partners, a leading Taiwan boutique law firm with full range of practice to global corporations, financial institutions, and government agencies, announced today that Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport Co., Ltd. (“TaoAir”) has selected the firm as its external counsel for 2017-2019. For three years’ time, Lin & Partners will represent TaoAir in litigation proceedings, as well as advise TaoAir on legal matters in the course of its operations.

Being the operator of Taoyuan International Airport, the largest airport in Taiwan, TaoAir was transformed from a government agency and incorporated as a state-owned company in 2010. Lin & Partners was first selected as TaoAir’s external counsel in 2013 for a term of 3 years, and this is TaoAir’s second engagement of the firm as it legal advisor.

“TaoAir’s selection process was a tough one, with 12 strong competitors in this tender, and the win was meaningfully important to us”, said Dr. George Lin, founder and managing partner of Lin & Partners, who will personally lead the project team, with the assistance of senior counsel Robert Lou and senior associate Matthew Chen. “We leverage not only on our services in the past three years, but also on our ability to provide value-added services in the next three years. TaoAir is in a crucial transition in light of the Taoyuan Aerotropolis Project, while Mr. Robert Lou, our senior counsel, served as the Chief Legal Officer at TransAsia Airways Corporation before joining our firm and specializes in various matters in the aviation industry. We are confident that, with the experience and expertise of our team members, our firm can competently fulfill TaoAir’s needs for legal services and contribute to the Taoyuan Aerotropolis Project, a key national development policy”.

Lin & Partners is unique among law firms in Taiwan in that it maintains dedicated practice groups for infrastructure & public procurement as well as government affairs & public policy. Apart from TaoAir, the firm also advises, among others, Ministry of Transportation & Communications, Financial Supervisory Commission, Taiwan Power Corporation, Ministry of Health and Welfare, National Taiwan University and Taipei City Government extensively on both contentious and non-contentious matters.
