Lin & Partners, a leading Taiwan law firm to global corporations, financial institutions, and government agencies, announced today that Taipei City’s Urban Regeneration Office has appointed Lin & Partners as external counsel to advise the URO on urban renewal project transactions.

Lin & Partners was selected following a competitive process among leading Taiwan law firms. Managing partner George Lin will lead the engagement.

The URO is tasked with carrying out urban renewal and development research, drafting urban redevelopment policies and laws and urban redevelopment plans, designating urban redevelopment areas, managing redevelopment funds, taking charge of business management and financial analysis of redeveloped real estate, budget control, managing subsidy programs, and the drafting, review, approval, coordination, supervision, and management of reconstruction, renovations, and other urban renewal tasks.

As part of this engagement, Lin & Partners will advise the URO on legal and contractual matters with relevant stakeholders and counterparties that arise from the URO’s work, including large scale urban redevelopment projects. Lin & Partners will also advise the URO on compliance with applicable laws and regulations in executing its functions on behalf of the Taipei City Government.

“Following our recent engagement by the URO to research and review urban regeneration laws and regulations, we are honored that the URO has again appointed Lin & Partners as an external counsel, this time to advise on transactional matters. Our unique competencies in infrastructure and government relations will help us assist the URO to carry out its important work, and we look forward to working with the URO on a regular basis,” said managing partner George Lin.
