Lin & Partners, a leading Taiwan law firm to global corporations, financial institutions, and government agencies, announced today that National Taiwan University’s College of Bioscience and Agriculture has appointed Lin & Partners as its counsel to advise it on the An Keng Farm build-operate-transfer project.

Lin & Partners was selected following a competitive process in which leading infrastructure and litigation law firms participated. Managing Partner George Lin will lead the engagement.

The 19.1 hectare An Keng Farm, located in the Ankeng district of New Taipei City, was originally an educational farm for students and researchers in biosciences, farming, and animal husbandry. A BOT project awarded to a private sector bidder intended to transform the farm into a mixed-use education, meetings and recreation destination with exhibition, meeting and hotel facilities for an estimated investment of NT$400mn.

Disputes between the developer and various regulatory agencies with regard to land use issues have significantly delayed the completion of the project, leading to the appointment of Lin & Partners as special counsel to the property owner.

“This appointment reflects our extensive experience advising public agencies, including educational institutions, on land use and redevelopment issues, including contentious matters involving tenants and contractors. We hope all parties involved will amicably resolve remaining issues so that this extraordinary transformation of An Keng Farm can proceed and the new An Keng Farm can be opened to the public,” said managing partner George Lin.
